I am an innovative organizational development consultant and certified coach with 25 years of experience helping leaders and teams transform their organizations. My approach strengthens organizations by supporting the dual aspects of people and performance. I help leaders, teams and organizations create healthy and productive workplaces.

Healthy organizations are my passion.
Organizations are like living organisms—we know when they are healthy and when they are not. A healthy organization is thriving, not just surviving. Leaders act as a cohesive team, the organization is aligned with strategy, direction is clearly communicated, and renewal and adjustment take place on a continual basis.
Healthy organizations are three times more likely to out-perform unhealthy organizations.
Healthy organizations tap into the creativity of their individuals and teams to enhance and sustain organizational effectiveness.
70% of the conflict in workplaces is caused by differences in style—once our differences are understood, we can reduce conflict dramatically.
I partner with you to build a healthier and more successful organization.

Services
Whether you need to implement a strategic change, improve performance or help a struggling team, I can help. I meet with you to tailor the project to your unique needs, generally starting with assessment and recommendation. I work with you to engage your organization in high-leverage actions to achieve a shared vision.
Organizational Development Consulting
I collaborate with clients to design and implement holistic change by rejuvenating the foundations of their organization, with attention to process, structure and culture. Team Building
When I guide a team towards a higher level of performance, I start by assessing team maturity and building trust. I help a team define a common mission, clarify roles and responsibilities, and strengthen communication. We also do the higher level work of understanding and valuing differences, and learning to resolve conflicts. My practice supports readiness for process improvement initiatives such as Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) and LEAN.

Retreats
The most successful retreats are usually the ones in which participants are actively engaged in the work of envisioning and planning the event. About Me
I spent the first twenty-five years of my career working in the public sector, both at the federal and local levels. My work exposed me to many aspects of government, from operations, to capital programs, to human resource management. I eventually found my passion in strategic change agent roles. Since 2010, I have helped clients as an independent organizational development (OD) consultant.
My work is informed by advanced training in public administration and organizational development — I have a MPA from the Evans School at the University of Washington and MA in Organization Design and Leadership from Seattle University. I bring a hands-on, practice-based approach, which I’ve gained by working under the mentorship of leading OD experts. In 2024 I became certified as an Associate Certified Coach through the International Coaching Federation (ICF). I coach leaders at all levels in an organization.
I guide clients through the realities of planning, designing, implementing, evaluating and renewing change projects. I bring a values-based approach — facilitating holistic, systemic solutions to change in organizations — with a focus on collaboration, creativity and inclusion.
Having grown up in Hawaii, the Island culture of inclusivity and gentleness is embedded in my nature. From an early age I learned about the unique value of every person. I came to Seattle for university and have lived here ever since. I’ve raised my family in the Pacific Northwest and am committed to making this part of the world a great place to live.

Philosophy
Improving the effectiveness of an organization is complex and delicate work. My approach is guided by the highest professional and ethical values, which I have developed over many years of working arm-in-arm with leading organizational development practitioners. I help my clients to build their confidence and capacity to do this work themselves. I practice both in the more traditional diagnostic models as well as the newer dialogic and generative models of organizational development. My approach is:
COLLABORATIVE
I partner with leadership to design and implement strategies to foster ownership and build capacity.
INTENTIONAL
My goal is always to align with the organization’s goals and initiatives, customizing my recommendations to the specific workplace.
BALANCED
I try to balance planning with recognizing and leveraging emergence. Workplaces are like living organisms — we can influence them, but we cannot predict their outcomes.
APPRECIATIVE
I always engage with a strength-based perspective, starting from a positive vision for who we can be collectively.
FOCUSED
While I engage employees in issues that affect them, I also remain focused on getting the work done.
GROWTH-ORIENTED
I continue to learn and enhance my practice. I am interested in a range of new theories regarding transformation in complex organizations, as well as mindfulness and creativity.
